Hiking is a fantastic way to discover the world. It's stopping whenever you want, to gaze at a river or ... a flower. It's going to places free of mass tourism. It's feeling the sun on your skin, but also the rain, the wind and the cold. It's sleeping within the landscapes you are crossing. It's also, sometimes, seeing the most absolute poverty, right before your eyes. Without even a TV screen to protect you.
