Kham (China) - August 2014

In the land of gentlemen brigands

Kham is an area in the south-center of China with a Tibetan culture. Alexandra David-Néel, the famous lady who explored Tibet at the beginning of the 20th century, called this place “the land of gentlemen brigands”. This is a very nice place… at least I think, because during the trek it rained almost every day. No gorgeous sun-bathed landscape pictures this time then, but misty mountains can be beautiful too and it is a great opportunity to put to the test the photography technique named HDR.

In buddhist monasteries of tibetan tradition, students take part each day in theological debates (tsod pa) which will improve their knowledge of the buddhist canon.
